Hardboard is manufactured from highly compressed wood fibres bonded under heat and pressure to create a dense, rigid sheet. Unlike plywood, it has no grain direction, giving it a smooth, uniform finish across the entire surface.
This standard 3mm hardboard is ideal for internal applications in dry conditions. Commonly used as a utility panel, it is widely employed for wall linings, floor underlays, backing for furniture, packaging, and other general-purpose tasks.
The smooth face provides an excellent base for painting, veneering, or laminating, while the reverse side has a mesh texture designed to enhance adhesion when used as an underlay. Although not structural, hardboard is lightweight, easy to cut, and simple to fix in place with nails, screws, or adhesive.
Hardboard is intended for interior, dry-use applications only and must not be used in areas of high humidity or where it will be exposed to moisture.
