Our 16x100mm Untreated TGV Matchboard Cladding provides an attractive, traditional timber finish for internal walls, ceilings, garden rooms, summerhouses, sheds, workshops and other timber buildings. Manufactured from softwood, these boards feature a smooth planed surface and a distinctive V-jointed tongue-and-groove profile, making them particularly suitable for decorative timber panelling, interior lining and refurbishment projects.

Each board features a projecting tongue along one edge and a corresponding groove along the opposite edge, allowing adjoining boards to interlock neatly. The small chamfered edges form a characteristic V-shaped joint between boards, creating a uniform appearance while allowing for natural timber movement. The nominal 16x100mm section typically finishes at approximately 12x94mm, although actual dimensions and effective cover widths may vary between manufacturers.

Supplied untreated, the timber retains its natural softwood colour, grain and knots, providing an attractive finish that can be painted, stained, varnished or oiled to suit individual preferences. The relatively lightweight section makes it a practical choice for internal wall cladding, ceiling panelling, shed interiors and other decorative applications where a traditional matchboard appearance is desired.

These boards can be installed horizontally or vertically onto suitable timber battens or framework, with appropriate fixings and allowance for seasonal timber movement. As the timber is untreated, it is primarily intended for internal or suitably protected applications. External use requires an appropriate timber specification, preservative treatment and protective finishing system.
