Our 2 Ex 32x175mm Brown Treated Sawn Featheredge Cladding provides a robust, traditional timber weatherboarding solution for external walls on barns, stables, workshops, garages, sheds, agricultural buildings and other timber structures. Manufactured from softwood, these boards feature a distinctive tapered profile and a rough-sawn surface, creating an attractive, rustic finish suited to both traditional and contemporary buildings.

Each board is produced by diagonally cutting a nominal 32x175mm timber section into two tapered featheredge boards. This typically creates a finished thickness of approximately 24mm at the thick edge, reducing to around 6mm at the thin edge. The heavier section provides a more substantial alternative to smaller featheredge cladding, making it particularly suitable for larger buildings and applications where a pronounced overlapping weatherboard appearance is desired.

The timber is preservative treated with a brown finish to help protect against fungal decay and wood-boring insects, improving durability when correctly specified and installed in suitable external applications. The brown colouring provides a traditional timber appearance, complementing the natural grain, knots and textured sawn surface. Over time, the treatment colour will gradually weather as the boards are exposed to sunlight and the elements.

Designed primarily for horizontal installation, featheredge boards overlap to help direct rainwater away from the building. They should be fixed to suitable timber battens or framework using corrosion-resistant fixings, with appropriate ventilation, drainage and overlap to support long-term performance.
