Our 25x125mm Green Treated T&G Log Lap Cladding provides an attractive, traditional log cabin appearance for sheds, summerhouses, garden rooms, workshops, garages and other timber buildings. Manufactured from softwood, these boards feature a distinctive rounded face that recreates the appearance of overlapping logs, making them a popular choice for both new garden buildings and the refurbishment of existing timber structures.
Each board features interlocking tongue-and-groove edges, allowing adjoining boards to fit neatly together while creating a consistent, attractive finish. Unlike conventional flat-faced shiplap, log lap cladding has a smooth, convex outer surface that produces a more pronounced, rounded timber appearance. The nominal 25x125mm section typically finishes at approximately 18–21mm at its thickest point, although actual dimensions may vary between manufacturers.
The timber is pressure treated with a green preservative to help protect against fungal decay and wood-boring insects, improving durability in suitable external applications when correctly installed. Natural variations in grain, knots and colour remain visible, giving the cladding its characteristic softwood appearance. Over time, the green treatment colour will gradually weather as the timber is exposed to sunlight and the elements.
Designed for external timber cladding, these boards are generally installed horizontally onto suitable timber battens or framework. The tongue-and-groove profile allows the boards to interlock, while appropriate ventilation, drainage and corrosion-resistant fixings help support long-term performance. The rounded face provides a decorative finish particularly suited to log cabin-style summerhouses, garden offices and timber outbuildings.
