This 75mm PIR cavity wall insulation board measures 1200 x 450mm and has a foil-faced rigid foam core. It provides a nominal area of 0.54m² per individual board before trimming and wastage. The smaller format is intended for suitable cavity wall designs rather than general-purpose full-size PIR boarding.
PIR cavity boards are commonly used in specified partial-fill masonry cavity wall systems, but the exact permitted application, residual air-gap requirements and installation arrangement depend on the chosen manufacturer's product approval and the building design.
At 75mm thick, this smaller-format PIR board can be fitted into an appropriately designed masonry cavity system where its depth and required residual cavity are suitable.
When planning quantities, allow for openings, corners and cutting around wall ties. Follow the approved fixing method and the relevant requirements for damp exposure, cavity barriers, ventilation and fire safety. The declared thermal resistance and reaction-to-fire class must be confirmed from the specific board supplied.
