14.5x69mm 4.2m Primed MDF Architrave - Pencil Round Profile

About

Our 14.5x69mm 4.2m Primed MDF Pencil Round Architrave is an excellent choice for creating a clean, modern and professional finish around internal door frames and openings. Manufactured from Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF), this architrave offers a smooth, consistent surface without the natural knots, grain variations or imperfections commonly found in traditional timber mouldings. The Pencil Round profile features a gently rounded outer edge with a simple, flat face, creating a subtle, contemporary appearance that complements a wide range of interior styles. Its versatile design makes it particularly suitable for modern homes, new builds, apartments, bedrooms, living rooms and hallways, while also pairing well with matching Pencil Round skirting boards for a consistent finish throughout the property.

Measuring 14.5mm thick, 69mm wide and 4200mm long, these MDF architraves are supplied pre-primed, providing a smooth base ready for finishing with your chosen interior paint. The 4.2m lengths provide flexibility when cutting vertical and horizontal sections to fit different door openings, helping minimise unnecessary joints and material wastage. MDF is also easy to cut, mitre and fix using suitable grab adhesives or mechanical fixings, making it a practical option for professional carpenters, joiners, builders, property developers and DIY projects. The gently rounded edge helps soften sharp corners while maintaining a clean, understated appearance.

Designed for internal use only, this primed MDF architrave is ideal for new builds, home improvements, property refurbishments and replacing existing door surrounds. It provides a cost-effective, low-maintenance alternative to solid timber architrave, with a uniform finish that is easy to decorate. The 69mm width offers a well-balanced appearance, providing greater coverage than narrower architrave profiles without appearing overly decorative or imposing. This makes it particularly useful for concealing minor gaps between door linings and surrounding plasterwork, helping achieve a neat, professional finish. The slimmer 14.5mm thickness also creates a less prominent appearance than thicker traditional architraves, making it a practical choice for contemporary interiors.

Please note: Moulding profiles may vary between manufacturers and may not exactly match existing skirting boards, architraves or windowboards. If an exact profile match is required, please contact us before ordering to confirm suitability.
