Firring pieces are used in the construction of flat roofs. They are fixed to the joists and subsequently boarded to create a roof gradient for rainwater run-off. This product has been milled from a premium quality native Redwood or Spruce. This product is freshly sawn, giving a rough finish to the faces and sharp square edges. Vacuum treated with “Tanalith E” water-based preservative, the service life of the product is extended through long-term protection against wood decay and insect attack. In addition, this product has been kiln dried to reduce the moisture content to below 20% which helps to prevent the timber from warping.
